Hadjera

The performance of the pilgrimage in Mekka is called the Hadsch after the stone Hadschar  which is a large meteorite, which was transmitted once by Djabril (Archangel Gabriel) (peace and honour are upon him) to earth. The  Hadschar  is set in the square building – the Kaaba.

caaba

In Arabic the Heavenly Stone in the Caaba is called "Hadjera el-Assouad" (engl.: Black Stone). It's a large stone from Space presented by the archangel Gabriel, peace and honour are upon him,  to the patriarch Abraham, honour with him,  and preserved at Mecca. The stone is set on the outside of the eastern corner of the Kaaba appr.  1.5 meters above the ground. Annually the Kaaba in Mecca attracts millions of pilgrims, which hope that by orbiting around the Caaba (the holy square building in which a black stone from heaven called Hadjera is built in) and by touching the wall of the same they will suddenly like by an impact from outside released from all sins.

The Black Stone is covered by glassy black fusion crust, which was created when the originally white stone was burned as it fell through earth's atmosphere. It has a max. diameter of 30.5 centimeters is preserved and displayed now in  three large segments and several smaller fragments, which are now encased in a massive silver band.  believe that this stone fell from the sky during the time of Adam and has the power to cleanse worshippers of their sins by absorbing them into itself. For this reason, the Black Stone is thought to have  turned black because of the sins it has absorbed on earth. Indeed this is not a metaphor but people who performed this procedure virtually appear for people who still live in the materialistic world as if the would have experienced a shift in character, a personal transformation and an inner enlightenment. Controversy, fight and religious competing were considered as taboo at the side of this powerful stone. In the Kaaba originally everyone was permitted to pray it to its God or its Gods. Only the Prophet Mohamed (peace and honour are upon him!), who was born in the year 570 in Mekka, banished the unpleasant Gods, which it regarded as idols, by letting the engravings of the Kaaba remove. The Hadschar was wrapped with a large cloth around so each religious could touch a corner of the (cover)cloth. The Hadsch (pilgrimage ritual) of the Moslems represents the possible sudden shift of overcoming sins on the singular and collective level of the person as such by the grace, power and glory of God. There is a story saying the Hadjera el-Assouad was given to Ismael by the Archangel Gabriel (peace and honour are upon him) , honour with him, in order to provide the cornerstone for the Kaaba. The Islamic God Blessed Messenger Elijah Muhammad (peace and honour are upon him!) said: "When I knelt down to kiss the Little Black Stone, I smiled, because I knew I was kissing myself" Due to this fact the Black Stone is kissed today by every Muslim who can gain access to it but is the only one matter on earth not considered idol worship.

Extracts of the Holy Book of the Koran (Islam)

Surah 57: 1. Whatever is in the heavens and on earth,- let it declare the Praises and Glory of Allah (peace and honour are upon him). for He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. 2. To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: It is He Who gives Life and Death; and He has Power over all things. 3. He is the First and the Last, the Evident and the Immanent: and He has full knowledge of all things. 4. He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in Six Days, and is moreover firmly established on the Throne (of Authority). He knows what enters within the earth and what comes forth out of it, what comes down from heaven and what mounts up to it. And He is with you wheresoever ye may be. And Allah (peace and honour are upon him) sees well all that ye do. 5. To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: and all affairs are referred back to Allah (peace and honour are upon him) . Surah 57:25. We sent aforetime our apostles with Clear Signs and sent down with them the Book and the Balance (of Right and Wrong), that men may stand forth in justice; and We sent down Iron, in which is mighty war, as well as many benefits for mankind, that Allah (peace and honour are upon him) may test who it is that will help, Unseen, Him and His apostles: For Allah (peace and honour are upon him)  is Full of Strength, Exalted in Might.

The patriarch had perhaps asked the archangel (peace and honour are upon him)  for bread. The Black Stone set on the outside of one corner of the structure is solemnly kissed by all pilgrims who can gain access to it.
